Lori Loughlin is reportedly looking to return to her acting career after her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, reaches the end of his prison sentence. In 2019, Loughlin and Giannulli found themselves in serious legal trouble when they were named as a part of the infamous college admissions scandal. The two parents were accused of spending $500,000 in bribes to have their two daughters enrolled in the University of Southern California, a crime that resulted in jail time for them both.

Just days ago, Lori Loughlin was released from behind bars after serving her two-month sentence. It's going to be a bit longer before she's reunited with Giannulli, who was sentenced to five months. Loughlin's punishment also includes a $150,000 fine and 150 hours of community service, with Giannulli ordered to pay another $250,000 and perform 250 hours of community service. While Loughlin is looking forward to her husband's release, rumor is she's also planning to start acting again once the family is back together.

"She previously expressed that she would love to act again at some point," an unnamed insider told People magazine. "She always loved her career. She loves filming and creating movies. The only focus right now though is to reunite with Mossimo."

The source also says, "Lori is still in the moment of enjoying being back at home. The next big focus is of course to have Mossimo back home. No one can visit him in prison, because of COVID. He stays in touch with his family via phone calls. It seems Lori will put everything on hold until Mossimo is home. She isn't really thinking about anything else."

If Loughlin is able to start acting again, she won't be able to revive her career-defining role as Aunt Becky. After reprising the Full House role in the Netflix sequel series Fuller House, Loughlin was fired by the streamer ahead of filming for the final episodes due to the college bribery scandal. She was also booted by Hallmark from When Calls the Heart, and given the wholesome nature of the network, it doesn't seem likely they'll be in a rush to bring her back to the show or to use her in any more Christmas movies.

Still, it's not impossible for Loughlin to resume her acting career. Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman was another celebrity named in the college admissions scandal and was sentenced to 14 days in prison for her part. She was released in October 2019, and by late 2020, she was seemingly picking her career back up. The actress has been cast in a lead role for the pilot of an unnamed baseball comedy series at ABC, and while it remains to be seen if the series will make it to air, it does show that work is indeed coming back towards Huffman's way.

In any case, not everyone is thrilled about Loughlin getting out of prison so soon. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Janet Hubert recently trashed Loughlin on social media for her short prison sentence. Perhaps not everyone is on her side, but for Loughlin, the hardest part of the whole ordeal should be over with her time behind bars now behind her. This news comes to us from People.
