Love is Blind is getting ready to bring the pods back to Netflix with a brand-new season this February. However, before season 2 makes its Netflix debut, we have a teaser trailer to prepare us for what lies ahead. Here is the teaser:

What is Love Is Blind?

The show, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, places singles in individual “pods,” through which they date without being able to see each other. They communicate and try to form connections; the couples are only able to meet face-to-face after they’ve become engaged. After the proposals and the first in-person meetings, the couples will then go to a resort to better get to know each other before returning to the real world. The series doesn’t stop there. Instead, the show follows them to their wedding days. The journey looks at who makes it and who doesn’t. Love Is Blind describes itself as a social experiment designed to test whether people can truly fall in love based on personality rather than looks.

“The pods are officially open!” Vanessa announces as the start of the teaser. Season 2 will take place in Chicago. After the first five episodes premiere, Netflix will release four more on Feb. 18th and the season finale on Feb. 25th. Season 1, which debuted in 2020, was a huge hit. Six couples got engaged on the season, and two made it to the altar. Both of the married couples, including Lauren and Cameron, are currently still together. The creators also released another bonus show called “After the Altar” was released in 2021.

We don’t know exactly who will be on the new season just yet, but we get the sense that they are not exactly looking for love but are focused more on discovering themselves. Of course, as we know from season 1, things change, and they change fast. Season 1 featured several success stories. Lauren Speed and Cameron Hamilton celebrated their first wedding anniversary in July 2021 after participating in the Netflix series. Matt Barnett and Amber Pike were another perfect match, who stayed together after a pretty interesting love triangle with Jessica Batten. After the show ended, she talked about her time on the show and why she ended up leaving her then-fiancé Mark Cuevas at the altar. She spoke in great detail about how the series changed the way she viewed dating and admitted that it still gives her problems today. “After the show wrapped, I didn’t date for quite a while just because it was a very traumatic experience,” she told Us Weekly in December 2021. “More than anything, I was just trying to duck and cover, and fly under the radar.” However, we do have good news as Jessica is now engaged and very happy.

The show was a massive success for Netflix as they continue to expand their streaming service into more genres and original programming. You can watch the first season on Netflix right now as you get ready for season 2 and all that it brings us just in time for Valentine’s Day.
