During the company's presentation at CineEurope 2015 earlier today, filmmaker Luc Besson' EuropaCorp announced they are moving forward with sequels to last year's Lucy and 2011's Colombiana. Luc Besson wrote and directed Lucy himself, while co-writing the script for Colombiana with Robert Mark Kamen, which was directed by Olivier Megaton. It isn't clear if Luc Besson plans on writing or directing any of these projects himself, or if he is seeking new filmmakers. If both of these sequels move forward, we can surely expect to see Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Saldana reprising their roles as Lucy and Cataleya, but we'll have to wait and see.

The news of Lucy 2 moving forward shouldn't come as too much of a surprise, since it was one of last year's biggest surprise hits, taking in $458 million worldwide at the box office on just a $40 million production budget. Scarlett Johansson starred as a woman who is forced into becoming a drug mule, when the package inside her body bursts, giving her incredible, God-like powers. While the movie was a huge hit, the ending doesn't exactly leave it open for a sequel, as Luc Besson himself even admitted in an IndieWire interview last year. Here's what he had to say below.

"I don't see how we can do [a sequel]. It's not made for that. If I find something good enough, maybe I will, but for now I don't even think about it."

Colombiana, on the other hand, wasn't nearly as big of a hit, taking in just $60 million from a $40 million budget. The story centered on Zoe Saldana's Cataleya, who goes on a 15-year journey to get revenge for the murder of her parents. Michael Vartan, Cliff Curtis, Callum Blue and Jordi Mollà also co-starred alongside Zoe Saldana, who is currently shooting Star Trek 3 at the moment. Scarlett Johansson is currently shooting Captain America: Civil War in Atlanta. Do you think Lucy 2 and Colombiana 2 should move forward?
