Lucy Liu will soon return to the big screen in an action role in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. But there is no doubt that her most remembered work as a woman of arms will always be that of Alex Munday in the first film adaptation of Charlie's Angels, where she shared the limelight with two other great stars of that time: Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz.

The film is based on the 1970s television series of the same name, and follows Natalie Cook, Dylan Sanders and Alex Munday, three talented, tough and attractive women who work as private investigators for an unseen millionaire named Charlie (voiced by John Forsythe). Charlie uses a speakerphone in his offices to communicate with the angels, and his assistant Bosley (Bill Murray) works directly with them when necessary.

Despite the fact that many years have passed, more than 20 actually, since the first installment of the saga, rumors about his relationship with his co-stars are still ongoing, with most indicating that the actresses did not get along at all. In a recent chat with People magazine, Liu referenced these comments:

“What I love about that relationship is that so many people denied it and created these rumors that we were fighting and that we didn't get along. But, ultimately what I think people miss is that women can get along.”

In addition, she delved into breaking the prejudices in the industry that women are always fighting:

“We don't have to continue the idea that women are cat-fighting. And now we see with the #MeToo movement, all of these things happening, and it sort of breaks and shatters those old prejudices.”
