Following today's Mad Max: Fury Road featurette that focused on The Road Warrior himself, Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), Warner Bros. has unleashed yet another featurette that highlights Charlize Theron's Furiosa. The actress reveals that writer-director George Miller wanted to create a character that could stand next to Max, describing her as the "ultimate female Road Warrior." We also learn that Furiosa ends up taking a group of women away from Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), as revenge for Joe taking Furiosa from her mother as a child.

From director George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary "Mad Max" franchise, comes Mad Max: Fury Road, a return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max (Tom Hardy) believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a group fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Charlize Theron). They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and pursues the rebels ruthlessly in the high-octane Road War that follows.

We also hear from George Miller and Tom Hardy, who shed more light on Furiosa's traumatic plight. With the May 15 release date just over one week away, hopefully we'll get more featurettes that offer new details on the other characters in Mad Max: Fury Road. While we wait for those videos, you can learn more about Furiosa below.
