Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss has signed onto headline the upcoming horror movie There Are Monsters from American Hustle producer Richard Suckle.

Bryan Bertino, best known for the hit thriller The Strangers, will direct this story of a mom and her terrified young daughter who become trapped and tormented by a mysterious creature.

There Are Monsters is heading to Cannes, with Embankment Films already discussing international sales with interested buyers.

Bryan Bertino stated:

"I love telling stories about fear - fear of the unknown and fear of the things inside us. Horror can cut through the complexities of life and force us to find something deeper within ourselves. What do we really care about in life? Fear can show us."
