In the latest episode of Anne Rice's Mayfair Witches, viewers finally find out what happens to Tessa, a member of the Mayfair family who was kidnaped by a group of radical witch hunters. Despite calling on Lasher for help, Tessa ends up caged and facing certain death. However, her fate takes a dramatic turn when Rowan arrives on the scene, fighting off the witch hunters and managing to save Tessa's life. Unfortunately, Tessa's rescue is short-lived as one of the extremists manages to shoot and kill her. Her death proves to be a pivotal moment in the series, leading Rowan to reach out to Lasher once again.

Madison Wolfe, who plays Tessa in the Mayfair Witches series, believes that Tessa giving the necklace back to Rowan (Alexandra Daddario) in her final moments is a powerful gesture. In an interview with ComicBook, Wolfe revealed that Tessa is urging Rowan to take control and use her powers for good. The necklace symbolizes the Mayfair family's supernatural abilities, and by giving it back to Rowan, Tessa is passing on that power to her cousin. Wolfe also suggests that there is a deeper message behind Tessa's actions. She believes that Tessa's death serves as a wake-up call for the Mayfair family, inspiring them to use their powers to help others and make a positive impact on the world. By sacrificing herself, Tessa becomes a catalyst for change, and her actions may lead to a greater sense of unity and purpose within the Mayfair family.

"I think that in the final seconds of Tessa's life when she gives the necklace back to Rowan, I think that's her kind of saying, 'This is yours, This is your power.' And underneath that, kind of subconsciously the communication is like, 'Please use this for good. Please step into your power," Wolfe said. "And I think Tessa hopes that her death is a catalyst for positive change in her family and maybe even making that connection between her whole family grow and have them all be empowered by her actions."

AMC

AMC Network is expanding its universe with adaptations of Anne Rice's popular book series. The latest report from Variety reveals that AMC is bringing back Mayfair Witches for a second season. The show is based on Rice's Lives of the Mayfair Witches series, which revolves around the Mayfair family and their supernatural powers. With the second season now confirmed, fans of the series can look forward to more thrilling and supernatural plot twists.

AMC Networks' President of Entertainment and AMC Studios, Dan McDermott, made a statement regarding the renewal of Mayfair Witches for a second season:

"We are thrilled with the reaction to this series, especially in the wake of the incredibly strong reception to Interview, and can’t wait to bring the fans second seasons of both series in this rich, vibrant and expanding universe based on the works of Anne Rice. In a business in which ‘nobody knows anything,’ we knew what we were hoping for in terms of building a television franchise around these remarkable characters and stories, and to see these shows arrive and captivate viewers in the way they have is so gratifying and energizing for everyone involved, and there is so much yet to come."

While fans are eagerly anticipating the upcoming adaptations of Rice's work, it is a sad reality that the author passed away on December 11, 2021, before seeing her books come to life on screen. Rice was a beloved author whose legacy has had a significant impact, and her presence will be missed. Nevertheless, her work will continue to inspire and excite fans through the adaptations that AMC is developing.

The first season of Mayfair Witches is currently airing on AMC and streaming on AMC+.
