Maggie Gyllenhaal will be joining Emma Thompson in the highly anticipated Nanny McPhee sequel Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang. According to Production Weekly's Twitter page, the film is set to film next month at England's Shepperton Studios.

This sequel will take place nearly one hundred years after the events depicted in the original film. With the help of Gyllenhaal's character, everyone's favorite magical nanny will have to tend to a group of children evacuated from their homes during World War II. She will have to deal with both city and country kids, attempting to bridge the gap between these two cliques.

Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang will be released in 2010.
