Just one day after learning Matthew McConaughey will not return in Magic Mike XXL, Warner Bros. has added Andie MacDowell to the cast. No details have surfaced regarding her character at this time.

Channing Tatum reprises his role as the title character, along with Magic Mike stars Alex Pettyfer (Adam), Matthew Bomer (Ken) and Joe Manganiello (Big Dick Richie). We reported in May that the story revolves around this group of exotic dancers who take a road trip to a stripping convention. The plot is loosely based on Channing Tatum's own road trip as a young stripper, where he rode in the back of a U-Haul truck while doing drugs with his fellow dancers.

Gregory Jacobs, who served as first assistant director on Magic Mike, is directing from a script by Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin, who are both producing alongside the director. Production is scheduled to begin at the end of this month, with Steven Soderbergh serving as the editor, director of photography and camera operator on the sequel, after directing and producing the original 2012 film.

Andie MacDowell currently stars in the Hallmark Channel series Cedar Cove, and she is also shooting the feature Mother's Day.
