Channing Tatum took to his Twitter page today to reveal the new poster for Magic Mike XXL, arriving in theaters July 1. The one-sheet features a shirtless Tatum showing off some new moves, along with the fitting tagline "Back to the grind." With the arrival of this one-sheet, it's possible that a new trailer may be just around the corner, so stay tuned for that.
This sequel is set three years after the events of 2012's Magic Mike, which ended with Mike (Channing Tatum) bowing out of the stripper life at the top of his game. Magic Mike XXL finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.
Original Magic Mike stars Matthew Bomer, Joe Manganiello and Kevin Nash reprise their roles in the sequel, alongside new cast members Andie MacDowell, Jada Pinkett Smith, Amber Heard, Elizabeth Banks, Michael Strahan and Donald Glover. Channing Tatum also wrote the screenplay for the sequel and produces, with Gregory Jacobs directing. Take a look at the one-sheet below, and stay tuned for more on Magic Mike XXL before it opens in theaters July 1.
