The cast of the male stripping drama Magic Mike is coming together quickly, with Joe Manganiello in final talks to join the indie project.

Magic Mike revolves around Channing Tatum's title character, a stripper who mentors a young performer (Alex Pettyfer) on and off the stage. Joe Manganiello will portray another male stripper named Big Dick Richie. Matthew McConaughey will play Dallas, the strip club's owner, while Matthew Bomer is set to play another unnamed stripper.

Steven Soderbergh is directing Magic Mike from a screenplay by Reid Carolin, which is loosely based on actor Channing Tatum's experiences as a 19-year-old stripper in Tampa.

Production on Magic Mike is scheduled to begin on September 14.
