Captain America: The Winter Soldier star Anthony Mackie is joining forces with Dear White People director Justin Simien for the upcoming comedy Make A Wish. Paramount Pictures has acquired the script by first-time writer Zach Frenkel, which made the 2013 Black List. Anthony Mackie is also attached to executive produce, alongside Jason Newman and Jason Weinberg.

The story centers on pro football player Butchie Jones (Anthony Mackie), who grants the final wish of a young 14-year-old who worships the athlete. The wish proves to be quite difficult, since the youngster's last request is to lose his virginity. The young boy has yet to be cast at this time, and it isn't known when production will get under way. Robert Teitel (Faster) is producing alongside Jason Spire.

Anthony Mackie will next be seen in Black or White, Our Brand Is Crisis, Triple Nine and the Untitled Christmas Eve Project, which also stars Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lizzy Caplan and Jillian Bell. The actor is also developing an Untitled Jesse Owens Biopic. Justin Simien made his feature directorial debut with this year's satire Dear White People, which has earned him Independent Spirit and Gotham Award nominations for Best Director.
