Red Hour Films announced today that Malcolm McDowell and Marilu Henner have joined the cast of Amy Heckerling's upcoming vampire romance drama Vamps. Zak Orth, who was last seen in The Other Guys, has also come aboard the film.

Written and directed by Amy Heckerling, Vamps stars Alicia Silverstone (whose first breakout role came in Amy Heckerling's Clueless) and rising actress Krysten Ritter as two freewheeling vampires set loose on New York City's infamous nightlife. When one of them unexpectedly falls in love, they both have to make a decision that could forever affect their immortality.

Marilu Henner will play a dying woman who gets the chance to resurrect her once-sexy self. Malcolm McDowell is set to play famous Vlad the Impaler, now known to his friends in NYC as Vlad Tepish, a vampire that has taken to wearing velvet jogging suits and knitting. Zak Orth will appear as a nerdy friend to Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter's characters. Also starring in this romantic comedy are Sigourney Weaver, Richard Lewis, and Wallace Shawn.

Vamps is currently shooting in the Detroit, Michigan area.
