While taking part in a conference call about the season finale of Heroes, Malcolm McDowell also discussed playing the Dr. Loomis character in Rob Zombie's reimagining of John Carpenter's Halloween.

Malcolm, with your role in Halloween are you paying homage to Donald Pleasence?

Malcolm McDowell: No, I have to tell you that I've never seen Halloween 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7. I must be one of the only people on the planet, I think, never to have seen any of the films, and I'm so glad because I asked the director, Rob Zombie, who is a wonderful director, if he thought I should see them. He said, "No, better not." Of course I knew Donald Pleasence, and a brilliant actor he was with that wonderful, sinister kind of thing of his. I could imagine him playing Loomis, of course, with that sinister kind of thing that he has... its a new look. Its a reinvention of it. He is completely different, my Loomis, I presume. I guess there will be some people who will be sort of disappointed if they think I'm just gonna copy him because I'm not.

There were actually 8 Halloween's before this.

Malcolm McDowell: Well, I'm obviously talking to an expert. I've signed for 3, howabout that?

Wow!

Malcolm McDowell: They obviously think its gonna be a big hit.

Halloween his theaters August 31 from Dimension Films.
