According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Home Video's marketing machine was on a roll this week with two star-studded events commemorating the 40th anniversary of Malcolm X's death and the 50th anniversary of James Dean's death.

Director Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, Delroy Lindo and Wesley Snipes, among other celebrities, were on hand Monday at New York's Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture to celebrate Tuesday's double-disc DVD release of Lee's Malcolm X, starring Washington.

On Tuesday, Martin Sheen, Martin Landau and Jane Withers, among other celebrities, gathered in Los Angeles at the Grove cinemas to celebrate several upcoming DVD releases commemorating James Dean's starring roles in East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause and Giant, due May 31 in two-disc special editions as well as a six-disc collectors boxed set.
