Walt Disney Pictures released an /maleficent-photo-reveals-first-look-at-angelina-jolie/official look at Angelina Jolie as the title character Maleficent yesterday to supercede the inevitable barrage of set photos sure to come. And today brings the first massive batch, which finds the actress in a field surrounded by cows and oxen. Maleficent began filming in Buckinghamshire this week, offering Angelina Jolie a chance to play the live-action version of Sleeping Beauty's iconic villain. As you can see, Walt Disney is staying quite true to the original cartoon, down to the horns and the yellow contact lenses. Check out Angelina Jolie as she tromps through fields of green, then read on for her insight into the project.

By request, these photos have been removed.

"It's not anti-princess, but it's the first time they're looking at this epic woman. I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn't mean she can't have other [warmer] qualities. It sounds really crazy to say that there will be something that's good for young girls in this, because it sounds like you're saying they should be a villain. [Maleficent] is actually a great person. But she's not perfect. She's far from perfect."
