With the highly-anticipated release of Man of Steel just a few short days away, Warner Bros. has locked in director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer for Man of Steel 2.

What isn't known at this time, is whether or not Christopher Nolan will be back as a producer. He helped shepherd the Man of Steel story with David S. Goyer, receiving both a story credit on the screenplay and a producing credit. Insiders claim that, if Christopher Nolan does return as producer, his involvement will not be as "full blown" as his work on the original. The filmmaker is currently prepping his next project, Interstellar, a sci-fi thriller starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, and Michael Caine.

Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill and Amy Adams will likely return as Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane, although their involvement has not been confirmed.

It is also worth noting that writer David S. Goyer's three-picture deal with Warner Bros. includes Man of Steel, this upcoming sequel, and Justice League, which is still in development. We reported in January that the fate of Justice League will be determined by the box office success (or the unlikely failure) of Man of Steel, while another report from February revealed that Justice League may be on hold until 2021, following Man of Steel sequels and a Batman reboot.
