The Kite Runner director Marc Forster has signed on to direct Leonardo DiCaprio in The Chancellor Manuscript for Paramount, based on the Robert Ludlum's 2005 political thriller, which Peter O'Brien will adapt.
According to Variety, the story centers on Peter Chancellor, who turns in a novel about D.C. power brokers who are blackmailed into altering U.S. policies. When some operatives get hold of the manuscript, they think he has uncovered their actual scheme and try to hunt the author down.
The project has been developed as a starring vehicle for DiCaprio, who has seen earlier drafts penned by Michael Seitzman and Alessandro Camon.
