It seems some changes are afoot for one of the TV season's hottest new shows. Ain't It Cool News broke the news (confirmed hours later by The Hollywood Reporter, that FlashForward executive producer and showrunner Marc Guggenheim has left the series.

While AICN reports that, "evidence suggests network executives were unhappy with the quality of the show's post-pilot storytelling," that might not be the case. THR's piece suggests that Guggenheim, who was brought on as a co-showrunner alongside co-creator David Goyer to show Goyer the ropes of a TV series, is simply stepping aside for Goyer to serve as the show's sole showrunner.

The series received a full-season back-nine order last week. It was said that Guggenheim was moving on to continue developing projects for ABC Studios.
