Screenwriter Marc Haimes has been set rework the adventure script Family History for Fox.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story has been described as National Treasure meets Back to The Future and has been shepherded by producers Cormac & Marianne Wibberley, who co-wrote the two Disney National Treasure films. Michael Punke originally drafted the project.

"It's an adventure about a family on a treasure hunt through time," said Haimes, a development exec at DreamWorks until last fall. "It has the kind of big idea that I loved working on as an executive. At DreamWorks, I never tried to brand myself. Working on lots of different types of movies was what I loved to do. I hope to have that same opportunity as a screenwriter."

No production date has been set.
