According to Variety, Adam Arkin, Camryn Manheim, Keir Gilchrist and Brie Larson also are starring.
Michael Nickles is directing from Marc Arneson's script.
Story centers on a high schooler who lives under a microscope of parental scrutiny and develops an unlikely friendship with the school's golden girl.
Shooting is expected to wrap this week.
