Screenwriters Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (Saw 3D, Piranha 3DD) are adapting their own novel Black Light for producer Michael De Luca.

The novel, which Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton co-wrote with Stephen Romano, centers on a private detective with special abilities that enables him to solve cases involving supernatural elements. He also uses a "black light" to try and contact his deceased parents. His cloudy past becomes more clear when a billionaire hires him for a job.

Black Light was published last month by Mullholland Books. No production schedule was given for Black Light.

Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton are currently working on a production rewrite of Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim.
