Back in March we reported that filmmaker Tyler Perry had revealed the cast of his latest film and now it seems one of those cast members has dropped out. People is reporting that Mariah Carey will not be starring in the upcoming film For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.

The site speculated that the departure could be because the actress/singer is pregnant, but a rep for Carey would not divulge why she has left the film.

"I'm not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time," said Carey's rep, Cindy Berger, who would not reveal any further details on why she left the project.

Tyler Perry is directing the film based off the screenplay he adapted from the 1975 play of the same name by Ntozake Shange. Production was said to start in June. We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further details on For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf or who may replace Mariah Carey in the film.
