Runaway Train: According to Variety, Mark Bomback has been set by 20th Century Fox to write Runaway Train.

The drama, which gives the Apollo 13 treatment to the story of an out-of-control train, will be produced by Firm Films and Milbrook Farms.

The Fox deal came after Bomback turned in the first draft of Die Hard 4. Though the studio recently hired Bruce Willis' go-to guy Doug Richardson to do a rewrite, the script's taut action premise registered at Disney as well.

The Mouse has just hired Bomback to rewrite Unnatural History, a Jerry Bruckheimer-produced actioner about a family that becomes trapped in the Museum of Natural History and must fight to survive when the resident creatures come to life.

Bomback's scripting credits include the Robert De Niro starrer Godsend and the upcoming Keanu Reeves starrer Constantine. He hopes to follow those assignments by making his directing debut helming his script "Disturbing the Peace."

That film has Philip Seymour Hoffman and Debra Messing attached to star. The script is based on the 1975 novel by Richard Yates, a tragic comedy about an ordinary suburbanite who decides that his life should be extraordinary.
