A young Luke Skywalker will be introduced on the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi with Grant Feely in the role, and Mark Hamill took to Twitter to pass the torch to the child star. Recently, it had been reported by THR that Feely, who previously appeared in an episode of Shudder's Creepshow series, had landed the part. Hamill didn't take long to offer his support to Feely online, tweeting the news and commenting that the young actor was perfect for the role.

Grant Feely looks like a perfect Luke Skywalker and I am wishing him all the very best!" Hamill said, using the hashtag #TheForceIsWithFeely.

"I am so honored to take on this role," Feely said in a response tweet. "You set the bar high and I hope to make you proud. Your support means so much!"

Posting an image of Feely alongside a childhood photo of himself, Hamill tweeted back, "You got this, Grant Feely! They chose YOU for a reason. They knew you would do a wonderful job as young Luke, even though you're much too handsome for the part. Have fun with it! Best always from your pal, Mar [camel]."

Many familiar Star Wars favorites will be showing up in Obi-Wan Kenobi, but as these aren't younger versions of their characters, they'll have the original actors reprising the roles. That of course includes Ewan McGregor who's back as the titular Jedi Master. He'll be running with Hayden Christensen who also returns as Darth Vader, who we all know to be Luke Skywalker's father. There are rumors of Liam Neeson appearing as Qui-Gon Jinn, and while that's not confirmed, chances are there will be some surprises that are awaiting fans in the series.

“I came round the set, and it was just this ring of people standing around," McGregor recently recalled of seeing Darth Vader on the set for the first time. "I had the cameras behind me looking down this street, and behind the cameras were 100 people standing there. They're usually in places doing work, not just standing. I couldn't quite work out what was happening. And then Vader comes around the corner, into the street, and I was like, 'Ah, f---. Of course!'”

"The whole experience was very surreal," Christensen also said of his Darth Vader return. "The first time that I saw Ewan as Obi-Wan again, that was a very special moment for me, and one that I'll remember for a very, very long time."

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Along with McGregor and Christensen reprising their roles from the Star Wars universe as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, the series also stars Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to start streaming on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
