An upcoming superhero film has apparently found its new villain. Comic book legend Geoff Johns, who was recently named the newly-formed DC Entertainment's Chief Creative Officer, recently took a trip to New Orleans to check out the progress on Green Lantern. He announced on his Twitter page that actor Mark Strong will play Sinestro in the film.

"Back from an amazing trip to Green Lantern town a.k.a. New Orleans!! Ryan IS Hal. And Mark Strong is going to be a brilliant Sinestro.

Kilowog, the Guardians, Oa...all breathtaking. The age of Green Lantern is upon us!"

We reported last month that Strong was in talks for the role and now it seems we have confirmation that he landed the part. Strong will be starring alongside Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard and Tim Robbins. The film is set for a June 17, 2011 release.
