After the bombshell announcement at Comic-Con 2013 that Man of Steel 2 will feature both Batman and Superman, many fans seemed to forget that Man of Steel strongly hinted that Lex Luthor may be popping up in the sequel. Actor Mark Strong was rumored to be the top choice for the villain back in June, and when he was asked about the rumor recently, the actor gave an intriguing response.

"All I can say is... watch this space."

Has Mark Strong already been cast as Lex Luthor? And, now that Batman and Superman are included in this superhero sequel, how does Lex Luthor fit in? If the actor has in fact been cast, it will be an interesting choice since he previously played the DC villain Sinestro in Green Lantern.

In addition, Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston has also been rumored to be up for this coveted role, but it isn't known if any offers have been made yet, since David S. Goyer is still writing the script.

Production is scheduled to begin next year, with Zack Snyder directing and Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane reprising their roles from Man of Steel.
