Mark Wahlberg has signed on to produce an untitled hacker-themed project for Universal Pictures, loosely based on a January article in GQ Magazine by David Kushner.

Jonathan Herman is writing the screenplay that follows a skilled hacker who goes after the students at a large, suburban high school.

Mark Wahlberg will produce alongside his partner Stephen Levinson, who have produced Entourage and the current HBO hit series Boardwalk Empire.

No production schedule has been released. Jonathan Herman has also written Conviction for Silver Pictures and Rites of Men, both of which landed on the Black List. The writer previously served as a production assistant on Mark Wahlberg's Boogie Nights.
