That's a wrap on Iron Lung. Recently, it was reported that the YouTuber Markiplier was filming the horror film, which is based on the computer game of the same name. He was reportedly self-financing the film and will star in addition to directing. It was also reported that Markiplier was producing with Will Hyde and Jeff Guerrero, while Caroline Rose Kaplan will also star.

Taking to YouTube on Saturday, Markiplier posted a new video simply titled, "i'm back." He announces at the start of the video that he is "finally done filming Iron Lung." He says that the journey took much longer than he "ever thought it could," but with filming wrapped on the project, Markiplier says he will have more time to return to making more content for his YouTube channel. You can watch the announcement video below.

"I've been missing [making videos] a lot more than I ever thought I would," the YouTube says in the clip. "Just the regular routine of making videos getting interrupted by going out and filming something even bigger, technically still making a video, just one very big intense video. But, I'm finally done."

He added, "It's great to be able to commit yourself to something so fully, and I can't wait to tell you about it, and I know you have so many questions about it. Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to answer a lot of them, but I can tell you I am incredibly proud of what we are making here... I'm incredibly proud to bring this game to life in a movie, like such an incredibly rewarding experience."

Markiplier Makes His Directorial Debut

Markiplier previously released a teaser trailer for the film, which you can see above. The teaser highlights the claustrophobic location of the movie, which looks to be, like the game, set in a dark submarine. In the video game, players are threatened by changes in oxygen and pressure levels, attempting to navigate through the waters using only the submarine camera and a map. It's a game Markiplier has even played on his YouTube channel, and he thanks the fans in his new video for how well they embraced the recent teaser. He was also happy that word of the film spread well beyond his fan based and into mainstream media.

"There were articles written about this teaser trailer, the fact that I was making this movie," Markiplier says.

While the video game hints what the film will be about, Markiplier isn't shedding any plot details just yet. He admits he was entertained by wome of the "wild conjectures" that some people had about what the adaptation would be like. With that said, he also says that he even surprised himself with what he had in mind when fleshing out the screenplay.

"I can tell you that even in my wildest imagination of what it would be, as I was writing it, it is so much more," he said.

Iron Lung doesn't yet have a release date.
