Matt Damon sets out to prove he's the universe's greatest botanist in the latest TV trailer for director Ridley Scott's The Martian. This latest footage comes after two theatrical trailers and a TV spot. We've also seen a number of viral videos for The Martian, which have delved into the crew behind the Ares 3 Mars mission and the subsequent rescue mission placed into order after one of the astronauts goes missing. The Martian has the potential to be one of this fall's biggest hits. It features a star-studded cast that includes Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Michael Peña, Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Donald Glover.

There's not much in the way of new footage here. During a manned mission to Mars, Astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is presumed dead after a fierce storm and left behind by his crew. But Watney has survived and finds himself stranded and alone on the hostile planet. With only meager supplies, he must draw upon his ingenuity, wit and spirit to subsist and find a way to signal to Earth that he is alive.

Millions of miles away, NASA and a team of international scientists work tirelessly to bring The Martian home. His crewmates concurrently plot a daring, if not impossible, rescue mission. As these stories of incredible bravery unfold, the world comes together to root for Watney's safe return. The Martian is based on the novel by author Andy Weir. It landed at number 12 on the New York Times Best Seller list for hardcore fiction when it debuted in March, 2014.

Mark Watney isn't the only astronaut in the movie. Earlier footage introduced us to the rest of his Ares 3 crew, who, as you see in this TV spot, mount a rescue mission to save their comrade against NASA's commands. Michael Peña is Rick Martinez, who considered himself a lot funnier than he actually is. Though, his own branded sense of self-humor never stands in the way of him becoming a true hero. Astronaut Melissa Lewis (Jessica Chastain) is the first ever woman commander of an Ares mission. She doesn't have time for chauvinistic comments, and quickly proves herself to be one of the best leader's NASA has ever had. And then there is German astronaut Alex Vogel, who knows his place in this story a little too well (do you think he'll survive?).

The last two members of the crew are Sebastian Stan as Christopher Beck. He is the doctor on the crew. And then there is Kate Mara, who plays Beth Johanssen. She's the best at summing up this crew, and may hold the key to their ultimate survival. Ridley Scott's The Martian is in theaters this November, just in time for the Holidays. Some believe it will be the next Gravity. But with Matt Damon playing a foul-mouthed comic book loving astro-botanist, this thriller definitely has a personality all its own. Take a look and hold on! The Martian arrives in just a few short weeks.
