Earlier this week, Marvel helped ring in the new year by debuting the first trailer for the studio's highly-anticipated Phase Two adventure Ant-Man. The first footage was received with an overwhelmingly positive response, with this movie, once dubbed a risky move for the studio (like hits Guardians of the Galaxy and Iron Man before it), seemingly well on its way to becoming another success at the box office. Entertainment Weekly revealed today that the Ant-Man trailer has amassed a whopping 29 million views since its debut on Tuesday.

That total makes it the third most watched trailer in Marvel history, behind Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age of Ultron, which was watched 34.3 million times in the first 24 hours back in October. Naturally, we'll have to wait until July to find out exactly how Ant-Man fares at the box office, but this trailer far exceeded the amount of viewers who saw the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer premiere, which went on to become the top grossing movie of 2014.

The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios' Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world. Evangeline Lilly, Michael Pena, Corey Stoll, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, John Slattery, Neil Hamburger and Bobby Cannavale co-star in Ant-Man.
