Earlier today, a rumor surfaced that the third trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron will debut during the first Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode of 2015, "Aftershocks", which kicks off the back half of Season 2 on Tuesday, March 3 at 9 PM ET. The news was never confirmed by Marvel, but the initial report did make a certain amount of sense, since the studio was originally planning to release the first Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer during an October episode of the ABC series. However, ComicBook.com received word from studio officials that the new report is false.

With Avengers: Age of Ultron less than three months away from hitting theaters on May 1, it isn't known when the next full trailer for their highly-anticipated Phase Two sequel will hit. ComicBook.com speculates that the studio may wait until the March Madness NCAA Basketball tournament coverage to debut the latest footage, but, of course, that hasn't been confirmed either. It's also possible that the studio simply will not release another full-length trailer, and will only release clips and shorter TV spots.

As far as a theatrical debut for the next trailer, Disney only has Cinderella opening between now and Avengers: Age of Ultron's May 1 release, arriving in theaters March 13. It seems unlikely that this superhero sequel will debut new footage before a fairy tale adaptation, but anything is possible. Marvel may also be waiting for a different episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as well. The studio wouldn't comment on when the next trailer will debut. At any rate, we'll be sure to keep you posted as soon as we hear any news about a new Avengers: Age of Ultron trailer.
