When Marvel's The Avengers set the box office on fire back in 2012, fans finally got the Hulk they wanted with Mark Ruffalo's version of Bruce Banner. Though, despite that Phase One ensemble's box office success, there have never been plans for a Hulk stand-alone movie. Last May, Mark Ruffalo said there were no plans for Hulk to get his own spin-off anytime soon, but he was not giving up hope on trying to make that happen.
While promoting his upcoming drama Begin Again, Mark Ruffalo revealed that Marvel is finally warming up to the idea of this iconic Green Goliath getting his own solo movie, although nothing definitive is in the works yet.
"I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of it. When we did The Avengers it was basically 'No!', and now there is some consideration for it. But there's still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut. I think the Banner/Hulk story line is obviously not a very easy nut to crack"
Mark Ruffalo is currently shooting the Marvel Phase Two sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron, which reunites him with his fellow "Science Bro" Robert Downey Jr.. When asked if fans will see more of the "Science Bros." teaming up in Avengers: Age of Ultron, the actor had this to say.
"There's lots of Science Bros, yeah. There's some cool Science Bros stuff, very cool Science Bros stuff."
"Yeah, that would be cool. If they do Iron Man 4, and Banner is in that, that would be very cool."
Of course, there are no definitive plans for Iron Man 4, but we reported in April that the potential sequel could be a part of Marvel's Phase Four, after the sequel was listed on a fan survey asking which Marvel movie they want to see next.
