Reaper creators Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas have joined Marvel and ABC's new series Marvel's Agent Carter. While the studio won't confirm the news, Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas are reportedly set to executive produce the pilot and will serve as showrunners if the project goes to series.

We first reported on the project back in September, which is based on the Marvel One-Shot short film Agent Carter that was attached to the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray and DVD. The short starred Hayley Atwell, reprising her role as Peggy Carter from 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger. While it isn't known if the actress will return, she revealed in October that she would love to be a part of the series.

The story follows Peggy Carter's ascension through the ranks of S.H.I.E.L.D. after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger, when her boyfriend Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) was frozen in ice. The pilot script, written by Captain America: The First Avenger writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, has already been completed, which ABC President Paul Lee said is "great." The show is still waiting for a green light, even though it hasn't been officially announced by the network yet. Its development schedule has been compared to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which breezed through the process en route to a series order last year.

Here's what Tara Butters had to say about Peggy Carter's character in a statement.

"She is such a strong character. I think this is a great premise that would make a great series."

Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas' involvement comes from their overall deal with ABC Studios, which is producing the show along with Marvel Studios. Aside from creating Reaper, the duo have written and produced for shows such as Dollhouse, Terra Nova and Hawaii Five-0.
