An upcoming Joel and Ethan Coen remake of a 1969 John Wayne classic Western might have found its two lead actors. According to Variety, Matt Damon and Josh Brolin are in talks to star in the True Grit remake.

Damon would star as the lawman who teams up with U.S. Marshall Rooster Cogburn, played in the remake by Jeff Bridges, and a 14-year-old girl to help find her father's killer in Indian territory. Brolin would play the killer. John Wayne's original performance as Rooster Cogburn in the 1969 film earned the screen legend his first and only Oscar.

It was said that production would start next March and the film is eyeing a late 2010 release.
