We reported last month that director Cameron Crowe was setting up his latest film project and now it seems he may have his star. Variety is reporting that Matt Damon is in early negotiations to join Crowe's We Bought a Zoo.

The film was written by Aline Brosh McKenna, based off the memoir by Benjamin Mee, which recounts his experiences of taking over a zoo with his family. It was said that Crowe is polishing McKenna's script.

Damon's deal isn't finalized so we'll be sure to keep you posted on any further developments on We Bought a Zoo as soon as we have more information.
