Matt Damon has signed on for a small role in director Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, while, at the same time, setting up his directorial debut, A Murder Foretold.

Of course, no details have been revealed in regards to Matt Damon's Interstellar character, but the actor will only be on set for roughly two weeks out of the production's four-month schedule. Production is currently under way in Iceland, with a cast that includes Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine.

Paramount is setting up A Murder Foretold for Matt Damon to direct from a screenplay by Chris Terrio (Argo), based on a 2008 article in The New Yorker by David Grann. The story revolves around the murder of a man in Guatemala, who left behind a video that implicates the Guatemalan president, his wife, and several others in his death. The plot follows a prosecutor who digs deeper into the case to find the shocking truth.

Steven Zaillian is producing under his FilmRites banner, alongside Indian Paintbrush's Steven M. Rales. No production schedule was given.
