Actor Matthew Lillard, who recently appeared in The Descendants, is in negotiations to join Trouble with the Curve alongside Clint Eastwood.

The story centers on Clint Eastwood's character, a professional baseball scout who is losing his eyesight. He brings his daughter along on a scouting trip to Atlanta, so he can evaluate a young prospect. Matthew Lillard will play another scout in the drama. We reported back in November that Amy Adams was offered the daughter role, although it still isn't known if she has accepted yet.

Robert Lorenz is directing Trouble with the Curve from a screenplay by Randy Brown. Robert Lorenz is making his directorial debut, after serving as Clint Eastwood's first assistant director on Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby. He has also produced Clint Eastwood films such as Gran Torino, Invictus, Hereafter, and J. Edgar.

It isn't clear when production will begin on Trouble with the Curve.
