Matthew McConaughey has signed on to star in a big screen adaptation of Michael Connolly's best selling novel The Lincoln Lawyer. According to Variety, the film is being produced by Lakeshore Entertainment.

The story follows the adventures of low-level criminal defense attorney Mickey Haller. He finds himself representing a wealthy client with ties to a previous murder case. The novel was originally published in 2005. The film is being produced by Stone Village Pictures' Scott Steindorff alongside Lakeshore's Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi.

The Lincoln Lawyer does not have a set start date, but will likely head into production before the end of summer.
