JBM Productions and EMO Films are moving ahead with a sequel to Tom Hanks' 2002 crime drama Road To Perdition. According to Variety, Max Allen Collins, the writer of the original graphic novel upon which the first film was based, will adapt and direct a follow-up based on his graphic novel Road To Purgatory.

The story of Road To Purgatory follows Michael Sullivan Jr., the son from the original film, as he returns home from WWII to avenge the murder of his father. His path of destruction ultimately leads him to Frank Nitti, and he is ordered by Al Capone to take him out. The film is budgeted at $20 million.

At this time, Road To Purgatory does not have a set start date or a selected cast.
