I could not lock down one source for this story, but it is all over the Internet this morning. It seems that Max Makowski (Queer Eye for the Straight Guy?) is set up to direct the theatrical adaptation of Kung Fu for Warner Brothers. It also seems that the WB is currently casting the flick as we speak.

At one time, the Hughes Brothers were all set to direct the film, which is based on a popular television series from the '70s. David Carradine starred in the original. A casting call has gone out to replace him. Warner Brothers is looking for someone who is male, 20-35 years in age, and is a mix of both Asian and European decent.

Production is set to start March 8th, 2008, in China.
