The MCU is an expansive cinematic universe that revolves around dozens of superheroes and supervillains and their journeys in saving the galaxy from destruction. With 30 films complete and more on the way, the MCU shows no signs of slowing down as they crank out more and more content to keep the audience occupied.

Through the several phases of the MCU, plenty of characters have surfaced. From the fantastic Doctor Stephen Strange to the new She-Hulk, the number of heroes within the MCU is forever expanding. However, considering the plethora of phenomenal characters, nothing gold can stay and not every character is going to last forever. Just as The Infinity Saga had its share of superhero (and supervillain) casualties, here are 10 characters who will likely die before The Multiverse Saga is over.

10 Hank Pym

Hank Pym acts as a mentor and friend to Scott, providing him with the Ant-Man suit and guiding him through the ins-and-outs of his mission. That being said, many suspect that Hank's time in the MCU is coming to an end. In the upcoming film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the superheroes find themselves trapped in the Quantum Realm, Hank included. Many have speculated that Hank will never escape said realm and that his time in the MCU is up. While it's unclear how exactly Hank will die, many suspect that a sacrifice is on its way.

9 Nick Fury

One of the most powerful characters in the MCU responsible for assembling The Avengers team, Nick Fury was a cornerstone to the building of the MCU. This formidable spy has brought a great deal to the MCU. However, Fury's place in the franchise has been dwindling ever since the collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D. While nothing is concrete to say that Nick Fury is going to die in The Multiverse Saga, Fury's days in the MCU may be numbered if creators don't find a way to keep him on.

8 Kraglin

The Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is known for ruthlessly and unapologetically killing off characters, as seen with Groot, Yondu, and present-day Gamora. It would seem that none are immune to this. Considering that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is meant to bring the franchise to a close, our beloved characters' storylines are going to reach their conclusions. Considering this, there is a risk that Kraglin may be sacrificed for some kind of greater good in the third Guardians film as his character is not as developed as the others, so he would not be as missed as some of the other team members.

7 Maria Hill

Maria Hill was first introduced in The Avengers, and her appearances throughout the MCU have been small. Beyond being the right hand of Nick Fury, Maria doesn't have much going for herself as she is more of a supporting character, leaving the audience to figure her out without much background. Considering that the MCU is full of characters that have yet to be explored, Maria may fall to the wayside in the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion. On top of this, Maria is merely a spy, and placing her alongside contenders like Thor and Loki, she is somewhat boring.

6 Drax

Dave Bautista Drax
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures

As one of the most beloved characters in the MCU, Drax's hard exterior contrasts greatly with the soft mush that is beneath it. His blunt and literal honesty is what makes him arguably the funniest character in the franchise. Drax has suffered great loss in his lifetime, losing both his wife and daughter. Dave Bautista has hinted at the character's MCU story coming to a close. There would be no better ending for Drax than to be reunited with his wife and daughter.

5 Loki

While Loki is technically already dead, the second season of Loki may bring us another shocking surprise. Many have begun to speculate that Loki's story may reach its final conclusion in the second season as the first made it clear that the God of Mischief's time is almost up, and he will be gone for good. Whether it's in season 2 or it's further down the line in The Multiverse Saga, it's clear that everyone's favorite villain is sadly on his way out of the MCU forever.

4 Agatha Harkness

Marvel Studios / Disney

Since her introduction in WandaVision, Agatha Harkness has proven that witches can be some of the most powerful beings in the universe, even giving Wanda a run for her money. Agatha's popularity on the series has given her, her own spinoff called Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Aside from the title and some recent casting news, almost nothing is known about the series. However, even in the comics, Agatha is more of a supporting character, so it's not likely her time in the MCU will extend past The Multiverse Saga.

3 Nebula

Nebula is known for her turbulent and complicated relationship with her adopted sister Gamora, longing for the approval of their father Thanos, and going to great lengths to have him love her. Despite this, Nebula and her sister have grown to love and accept one another the way they are. She has grown exponentially as a character, which has audiences worried that her time in the MCU may be over in the next phases. That being said, it would be very poetic if Nebula were to sacrifice herself for her sister in the final Guardians of the Galaxy film, leaving a great impression on the MCU.

2 Red Guardian

Marvel Studios

Red Guardian was introduced in Black Widow, and although he allowed his family to be subjected to a great deal of torture and brainwashing, he managed to redeem himself after being broken out of prison by his daughters. While Red Guardian was a hilarious addition to the MCU, his redemption story would only be complete with him sacrificing himself to save Yelena. While it's unclear what is to come in Thunderbolts, Alexei may finally be able to prove that he is worthy of his daughters' love.

1 Bucky Barnes

Bucky Barnes
Disney Platform Distribution

Bucky Barnes will most likely become the captain of the Thunderbolts thanks to his plethora of experience. If Bucky becomes the captain, his mortality rate may go up. While the former Winter Soldier may not fully belong on this list, he doesn't exactly fit in the MCU anymore. It's possible that Bucky may end up paying the ultimate price in Thunderbolts as he has learned that sometimes heroes must sacrifice themselves for a greater good.
