MGM has hired Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber to write the screenplay for their upcoming adaptation of Me Before You.

Based on a novel by bestselling author Jojo Moyes, the story centers Lou and Will. Lou is a small town girl, who is caught between two dead end jobs. Will is a high profile man that becomes wheelchair bound after an accident. He becomes suicidal and Lou helps him realize that life is worth living even after a life changing event.

Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber are best known for writing James Ponsoldt's dramedy The Spectacular Now. They also wrote Marc Webb's romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer.

The book has sold more than half a million copies and hit the The New York Times bestseller list. No director or cast have been announced. Production details are few at this point.
