Don't get your hopes up too high for a Me Time 2. Debuting on Netflix in August, Me Time is a buddy comedy movie starring Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg as two pals setting out for a hijinks-filled weekend. Unfortunately, the film was met with almost universally negative reviews, landing with an abysmal 7% rotten rating at the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. Its audience score was comparably better but still very rotten with a 29% score.

The Rotten Tomatoes score marks a new low for both Hart and Wahlberg, as this is the lowest-rated movie either actor has ever appeared in. For Hart, it sets the new record after dropping lower than Fool's Gold at 11% and Little Fockers at 9% rotten. As for Wahlberg, his lowest-rated movie was previously Renaissance Man at 12%, followed by Max Payne at 15% and Transformers: The Last Knight at 16%.

With Me Time, critics are banding together to lambast the film. That includes noted Chicago Sun-Times critic Richard Roeper referring to the movie as "stunningly unfunny." Nick Schager of The Daily Beast has labeled the film as "Kevin Hart's worst movie yet." It's also been called a "misogynist, crude, unfunny movie" by Film Authority's Eddie Harrison.

"Me Time somehow squanders a solid premise, a stacked cast and a seemingly unlimited budget," said Lindsey Bahr of the Associated Press. "It didn’t need to be anything great in this movie comedy drought we seem to be in. But considering who was involved, it really should be better than it is."

Peter Travers of ABC News agreed, writing, "Despite the star presence of Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg, this laugh-starved, buddy comedy is crushingly dim-witted and disposable."

Me Time Was At Least Fun For Its Cast

Perhaps the movie did not have the reception that the filmmakers were hoping for, but it was at least a fun experience for the cast and crew. Mark Wahlberg previously opened up to THR about stripping down to his birthday suit for the movie, which he admits was embarrassing. Be that as it may, Wahlberg also claimed to have never laughed as much as he had when he was on the Me Time set.

“Day two was great because I got to put my clothes back on. Day one was rough. I was only wearing sneakers,” Wahlberg said. “It was a bit embarrassing but other than that it was all good. It was just such a fun environment. You know, I mean, I never laughed so much in my life.”

John Hamburg wrote and directed Me Time. Along with Kevin Hart and Mark Wahlberg, the film also stars Regina Hall, Luis Gerardo Mendez, and Jimmy O. Yang. Hamburg and Hart also produced with Bryan Smiley.
