That's so fetch! The Mean Girls movie musical has posted its final casting call.

Angourie Rice (Cady Heron), Auli’i Cravalho (Janis), Jaquel Spivey (Damian), and Reneé Rapp, who made her Broadway debut as the Queen Bee leader of The Plastics, Regina George, in 2018, are joining the ensemble cast of the Mean Girls musical from Paramount Pictures, which is based on the Tony-nominated Broadway musical adaptation of the 2004 teen comedy, per Deadline. Lorne Michaels is producing with Tina Fey, who is writing the adaptation of the stage musical, with Arturo Perez and Samantha Jayne directing.

Mean Girls, both the 2004 movie and the Broadway musical, tells the story of Cady Heron, a high-schooler who moves to Illinois suburbs after living most of her life in Africa with her zoologist parents. A naive newbie, Cady quickly gets caught up in the pack-like behavior of high school students, eventually falling in with the popular clique, a.k.a. The Plastics, a trio of girls led by the vicious Regina. The 2004 film starred Lindsay Lohan as Cady and Rachel McAdams as Regina and earned $128 million at the global box office.

Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, the stage production of Mean Girls started previews on March 12, 2018, and opened on April 8 at the August Wilson Theatre. The production received 12 Tony nominations before it was forced to close in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After a long break from acting, Lindsay Lohan is ready to make a comeback. The now-sober actress has announced several streaming projects in the last several months, including Irish Wish. She seems eager to parlay her recent success into a Mean Girls reboot, regularly bringing up the possibility in press interviews for other projects (at this time, it's unclear if she is attached to the new Paramount film in any capacity).

And Lohan's Freaky Friday co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, who has also struggled with addiction, is cheering Lohan on from the sidelines. During an appearance on The View, Curtis said she had already reached out to Disney about making a sequel to the Lohan-Curtis feature film:

"I’ve already written to Disney, my friends at Disney. I’m in their new Haunted Mansion movie. Let me be the grandma! Let me be the old grandma who switches places. So then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma, who is still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon."
