After gaining widespread success during her stint as Penny in The Big Bang Theory and receiving several nominations for awards in multiple categories for her new show, The Flight Attendant, Kaley Cuoco will star alongside Pete Davidson in an upcoming rom-com. Davidson is best known for his role in Saturday Night Live since 2014, and will next be seen in the upcoming DC movie, The Suicide Squad. This new pairing comes after Cuoco recently signed an expansive deal with her production company Yes, Norman, extending her 15 year relationship with the studio. Meet Cute, directed by Alex Lehmann, seems to focus on the idea of what a person would do if given the opportunity to delve into the history and minds of their significant other, allowing them to iron out all their creases, fix each flaw, and change them forever.

With Kaley Cuoco set to star as Sheila, and Pete Davidson as Gary, the project looks like a tantalizing prospect, based upon an interesting concept, with Noga Pnueli serving as the writer. Akiva Goldsman, Gregory Lessans, and Rachel Reznick of Weed Road Pictures will produce alongside Santosh Govindaraju and Dan Reardon of Convergent Media. While exact details of the project are unsure, and what either character's stories will be are also not yet known, the name Meet Cute, refers to a first, awkward and hilarious encounter between the two characters. Which will be the first step in the development of a future relationship, the rom-com is set to be an unconventional story that people should look forward to.

Kaley Cuoco received several nominations for The Flight Attendant, including SAG (Female Actor in a Comedy Series, as well as Ensemble in a Comedy Series), Critics Choice (Actress in a Comedy Series, Best Comedy Series), and the Golden Globes (Actress in a TV Series - Musical or Comedy, as well as TV Series - Musical or Comedy). She was also nominated for a PGA (Producer of Episodic TV, Comedy), she is also set to star in upcoming 2022 movie, The Man From Toronto, an action-comedy film starring Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson, and Patrick Hughes serving as director for the movie.

Davidson has also been making his way into the industry with his stint as a Saturday Night Live cast member, and in DC's soft reboot of the underwhelming Suicide Squad, as Blackguard. He also starred in The King Of Staten Island and has cemented his place in the Saturday Night Live roster, becoming a favorite of the fans, with recurring jokes of his living status and comparison to fellow Staten Island resident Colin Jost. Davidson is also set to star in upcoming A24 horror film, Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, and Rupert Sanders's The Things They Carried, alongside Tom Hardy. The Things They Carried is an adaptation of Tim O'Brien's book, and focuses on a platoon of US soldiers in the historic US-Vietnam war. The project will also star Tye Sheridan.

The director, Alex Lehmann, also has directing credits for the Netflix Ray Romano and Mark Duplass comedy feature, Paddleton, and the Sarah Paulson-Duplass romantic drama Blue Jay. Lehmann is represented by ICM. This comes to us from Vulture.
