According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal's Meet the Fockers enjoyed a second weekend atop the North American boxoffice according to studio figures compiled Sunday as the comedy sequel to the 2001 hit Meet the Parents added an estimated $42.8 million to its cume, down only 7% from the previous frame and lifting its total to an estimated $163.4 million.
Paramount's Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events took second place with an estimated $14.7 million, bringing its cume after three weekends to $94.8 million. Miramax's The Aviator took off in third place with an estimated $11.2 million, raising its cume to an estimated $31.1 million. Fat Albert from 20th Century Fox grabbed fourth place with an estimated $10.7 million in its second weekend.
Warner Bros.' Ocean's Twelve rounded out the weekend top five with an estimated $9.2 million to climb to an estimated $106.9 million after four weekends. Final figures will be released Monday.
