Actress Melissa George (Lost), on her official website has confirmed that she will star opposite Josh Hartnett in David Slade's 30 Days of Night.

The site says Melissa plays the character of Stella Olemaun, deputy sheriff, female lead and wife of Josh Hartnett's character (Eben). The film is being produced by Spider-Man director Sam Raimi.

30 Days of Night is scheduled for an October 19, 2007.

The film is based on the Steve Niles graphic novel. In a sleepy, secluded Alaska town called Barrow, the sun sets and doesn't rise for over thirty consecutive days and nights. From the darkness, across the frozen wasteland, an evil will come that will bring the residents of Barrow to their kness. The only hope for the town is the Sheriff and Deputy, a husband and wife who are torn between their own survival and saving the town they love.
