Melissa McCarthy will reunite with writer-director Paul Feig for the spy comedy Susan Cooper.

The story is described as a realistic secret agent thriller centering on a female James Bond type. No other cast members have been attached at this time. Melissa McCarthy previously starred in Paul Feig's comedies Bridesmaids and this summer's box office hit The Heat.

Paul Feig will direct from his own original screenplay, with Jesse Henderson producing and Daria Cercek overseeing the production for 20th Century Fox. The idea for the story was inspired by the revived James Bond franchise that was launched in 2006 with Casino Royale, starring Daniel Craig, which is said to be one of the filmmaker's favorite recent movies.

The actress is still negotiating her deal, since scheduling issues need to be worked out with her hit CBS sitcom Mike & Molly.
