Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone are set to direct New Line Cinema's upcoming comedy Tammy. Beth McCarthy-Miller was originally going to direct, but dropped out due to scheduling issues.

The husband and wife team also wrote the comedy, which follows a women that loses her job and finds out that her husband is cheating on her in the same day. After being pushed to her limit, she decides to take a road trip with her crude drunken grandmother.

The studio made the deal to not further delay the film, as New Line Cinema didn't want to lose the opportunity to work with the couple, who last appeared together in the comedy Bridesmaids, sharing a memorable scene aboard an airline.

No production schedule has been released.
